- Job details like the kind of electrical issue, the service you may need, photos you choose to upload, and when you want the work done
- Basic device and site data like IP address, browser type, pages visited, and general location based on your device or internet connection
- Messages you send us if you contact support or reply to emails or texts

We do not ask for bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive records to use our matching service.

How we use your information

We use your information to run the service and respond to your request.

1. To review your request and understand the type of electrical job you described
2. To share your request with participating electricians so they can decide whether to contact you
3. To communicate with you by phone, email, or text about your request, scheduling, follow-up, or support
4. To improve the site by understanding what pages people use and where problems happen
5. To prevent misuse like spam, fraud, or automated abuse of our forms

VoltGuide is not an electrician or electrical contractor. We do not perform electrical work, inspect work, or approve permits. We use the information you submit to help you compare options and choose who to hire.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information as a list of homeowners. We share information only when it is needed to operate the matching service or follow the law.

We may share your information with:
- Participating electricians who serve your area, so they can contact you about the job you described
- Service providers that help us run the site, send messages, store data, or prevent fraud
- Government agencies or legal authorities if we believe we must do so to comply with law, court order, or to protect rights and safety

Participating electricians pay VoltGuide a flat fee to receive matching opportunities. The matching service is free to homeowners.

Once your information is shared with an electrician you choose to speak with, that company may handle your information under its own privacy practices too. That is one reason we encourage you to verify the license yourself and get the scope and price in writing before any deposit.

Your choices

You have options.

• You can choose what to submit. If you do not want to provide certain job details, you do not have to, but that may limit our ability to match you well.
• You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link if one is included.
• You can ask us to update or delete certain information by contacting us.
• You can choose who to respond to. Getting matched does not mean you must hire anyone.

You compare quotes. You choose who to hire. You hold the final payment.

For general site use, some browsers let you limit cookies or tracking technologies. If you block some tools, parts of the site may not work as expected.

Data storage and protection

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational steps to protect the information we hold. No website or online system can promise perfect security, so please use common sense when sending information online.

Please do not send:
- bank or credit account numbers
- Social Security numbers
- driver's license numbers unless a licensed electrician you hire specifically needs them for a lawful reason and you trust that company

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to run the service, keep basic business records, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and meet legal obligations.

Children and updates to this policy

VoltGuide is for homeowners and adults arranging home services. It is not directed to children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time if our service, vendors, or legal obligations change. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with the new effective date if applicable.
